What's new in EXPRESSfit 5.8?
- Support for the new Velocity 24, Velocity 12, and Velocity 4 product families.
- The original Velocity product line has been removed from this screen and now will only be displayed when an aid is connected to EXPRESSfit.
- Ability to view fitting targets for an input of 70 dB SPL (“7” curve). The “7” curve is a view-only curve and by default is not displayed. It can be displayed by selecting it in the “View” menu at the top.
- Additional environments available for the Velocity 24 and Velocity 12 product families:
- Outdoor (Velocity 12 and 24)
- Automobile (Velocity 24)
- Restaurant (Velocity 24)
- Television (Velocity 24)
- For the Velocity 24 miniBTE thin tube fitting, EXPRESSfit only allows the Universal Transparent setting. However, for an ear hook fitting, Universal Dynamic or Transparent can be selected.
- Voice Alerts:
- There are new male and female voices for the Voice Alerts. If an original Velocity aid is connected to EXPRESSfit 5.8 and a change is made to the Voice Alert setting, the new voice will now be present in the aid.
- For the new environments, not all foreign languages were recorded so some files will be empty.
- Volume Control Reserve Gain:
- If the device has a volume control, the Reserve Gain will show 3 dB or 6 dB depending on the headroom, but never 0 dB. If an original Velocity is read into EXPRESSfit 5.8 there may be a shift in gain to the fitting curves to adjust for this new rule.
- To ensure the standard 3 dB Reserve Gain, go to the Fit Hearing Aid screen before the Finish Session screen. Going directly from the Select Hearing Aid screen to the Finish Session screen will list the default for Reserve Gain as 0 dB.
- Power On Delay:
- There is now a 15 second power on delay option for the new Velocity product families.
